Today’s devotional is written by Liz’a Biswell and narrated by Angela Gray.

“… If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free”(John 8:31b-32 ESV).

I’m discovering what it means to walk in an intimate relationship with God. Each time I surrender, He reveals more of Himself. When I obey, He draws me closer.

Recently, He has been teaching me that deep reverence opens the door to intimacy, and intimacy opens the door to freedom.

Part of that freedom comes from allowing Him to expose and destroy strongholds in my life. I’m realizing that strongholds aren’t always dramatic or obvious. Sometimes they are quiet lies I’ve received and believed for so long that they feel like truth. These are things I’ve thought about myself that directly contradict God’s Word. My loving Father is revealing those places and tearing them down with His truth.

Through many mistakes and far too much striving on my own, I’ve learned that only one thing has the power to conquer the lies of Satan. Jesus says in John 8:31–32, “If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Freedom begins with abiding and grows with truth.

As God began exposing these lies, He also showed me how to dismantle them. These seven steps, taught by Pastor Vlad Savchuk, have been life-changing for me:

Identify the voice — does it build faith or destroy peace?

Name the lie out loud — bring it into the light.

Replace it with God’s truth — speak what He has said.

Close the door — repent, renounce, stop agreeing with the lie.

Cast it out in Jesus’ name — don’t argue; command it to leave.

Refuse isolation — reach out to trusted believers; lies grow in darkness.

Renew your mind daily — read, pray, praise, fast.

Claim this truth over your life today! “So if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed” (John 8:36 ESV).

Walk in freedom, live in truth, stop striving, and abide in Jesus today.
