Today’s devotional was written by Angela Vandagriff and narrated by Sharee Gaiser.

“Ye have compassed this mountain long enough; turn you northward” (Deuteronomy 2:3, KJV).

Have you ever been exhausted, mind, body, and soul, from fighting the battles of life? For the past five years, I have been in constant battle, without peace.

I was cooking dinner when it started. The Holy Spirit whispered, “Prepare yourself—the attacks are coming.” My heart raced as my thoughts shifted from peace to panic. Thirty minutes later, the text came through. I opened it, and as I read those words, my heart shattered, and I knew the first blow of the attacks had begun.

I was ill-prepared for the intensity of the enemy’s calculated attacks that followed; family division, death, even homelessness. Exhausted and feeling alone, I was fighting a battle I could not win on my own. I was fighting for what wasn't meant for me. My soul was crushed. On my own, I could not have survived such overwhelming devastation. But God!

Opening my Bible, I felt God speak clearly—just like He spoke to Moses in today's verse. “You have circled this mountain long enough. Turn northward.” I heard a strong voice say, “Stop this madness. I want you to turn toward Me. I am your True North." I stopped running in circles and began trusting God. I let go of everything and walked into my wilderness.

Fast forward in time, I pulled into the driveway of what would be my new home. I glanced at the compass in my car. It showed “N,” north—I knew I had arrived where God had prepared for me.

God needed me to stop circling the chaos in my life and release it all to Him. When I surrendered and walked the path He set before me, it led exactly to what He had prepared for me.

Today, God knows your wilderness. Deuteronomy 2:7 says, "He has not abandoned you.” He will bless all that you do—you lack nothing. Set your internal compass toward the True North of life and let those hard-fought hallelujahs ring out!
